Ahli geologi Kim Hwi, menemukan tanda-tanda di pantai timur Korea yang mirip dengan kondisi Samudera Hindia pada saat tsunami tahun 2004. Meskipun telah ia peringatkan, Badan Pencegahan Bencana bersikeras bahwa Korea tidak dalam bahaya. Ketika Kim tahu bahwa sebuah tsunami besar mengancam semenanjung Korea, ia langsung menuju Haeundae, resort pantai yang populer. Kemudian, ia mendapat kabar bahwa sebuah ombak mematikan sedang menuju Haeundae dengan kecepatan 500 mil per jam dan ia hanya punya waktu sepuluh menit untuk memperingatkan semua orang.

Geologist Kim Hwi, an expert on tsunami research, discovers the East Sea is showing signs of activity similar to the Indian Ocean at the time of the 2004 tsunami. Despite his warnings, the Disaster Prevention Agency affirms that Korea is in no harm of being hit. When he discovers a mega-tsunami is headed straight for the Korean peninsula, he quickly heads down to Haeundae, a popular beachside vacation spot on the East Sea coast. Eventually, Kim gets a call about a deadly oncoming wave headed straight for Haeundae at 500 miles an hour, with only ten minutes to spare.
